So, when Sarah at Ingredients of a Fit Chick hosted a Lock Laces giveaway, I was sure I wouldn't win. But I DID!
Official Description: Made for competition, LOCK LACES™ is the only patented performance lacing system engineered to meet the demands of endurance athletes like runners, triathletes, marathoners, and walkers. Unlike other products, wearing LOCK LACES™ sustains compression across the foot increasing the amount of oxygen available to the muscles which helps endurance athletes manage fatigue.
Those are major claims. And I cannot claim to be an "endurance athlete" of any sort. I mean, I run occasionally. I like interval classes at the gym. Would I like these?
Sarah emailed me a super cute pink pair, which I promptly laced into my 2nd favorite shoes - New Balance 860s. The instructions weren't very clear and I probably spent way too much time trying to figure out how to make these work. It's actually a very simple process that I was making very over-complicated. Once I had them laced up, I was ready to hit the gym.
I especially like that these keep my shoes on my feet without being quite-so-tight. The reason these are my 2nd favorite shoes is that my Asaics feature off-center lacing, which means that they keep my feet from going numb. The tongue on New Balances still irritates my feet a little but with the Lock Laces, I can keep it a little looser and still rest assured that my shoes will stay on my feet, even during box jumps.
Thank you, Sarah, for hosting the giveaway and giving me a few more seconds to get ready every day. :)
