When Chocolate Paper had Easter candy on a mega sale post-holiday, I discovered sugar-free peeps. I have seen a LOT of strange foods in my life, but never a sugar-free marshmallow. What is a marshmallow if not sugar? Uhh...apparently Maltitol whatever that is. Yikes. My curiosity got the best of me though, and I brought these bad boys home for a taste test.

Review: Even without sugar, these little guys manage to taste like the "real deal" (is there really anything "real" about Peeps, though? I digress.) They have a sugary crust and a fluffy interior and they even MELT just like a real marshmallow. S'mores score! There's a downside, though....
Remember how there isn't sugar in these guys? There is a LOT of sugar alochols. And sugar alcohols = "gastric distress." There's even a warning on the package. If you have a sensitive stomach, steer clear. Or warn everyone else to.
Verdict: Skip it. Between the high price tag and possible stomach issues, you're much better off just eating the real thing.
