Instead, I was inspired by the ridiculous amount of bananas we seemed to have, and made an over-the-top indulgent banana cream pie. With chocolate and peanut butter, because they make everything better.
Also, I will admit that I didn't much baking for this recipe. But it's summer, and crazy hot and I've found myself avoiding the oven for cooler treats. The pictures of this pie don't come close to doing it the justice it deserves, but it was a late-night decision so the lighting was horrible (and I am not fancy enough to make an indoor light box. Yet.) and after taking the nessarily sample pieces (to be sure it was safe to eat, of course), this little pie went with me to work and never had an opportunity to be photographed again. RIP you banana monster, you.
